I am Eike Vomberg, living in the Rhineland in Germany, husband and father of two children.

Furthermore, I work in cloud and cyber security for 10+ years, most of the time as a Product Manager for as a Service or Cloud products. At some point I had the idea to write about my experiences in product management, share my thoughts and started this blog.

Since two years, I work at OVHcloud, the leading European Cloud Service Provider as the Product Marketing Lead in Central and Eastern Europe. I am responsible for product launches and regional product enablement, ensuring that new solutions are successfully introduced and positioned in the market. As a company ambassador at conferences and cloud evangelist, I represent the organization, promote modern cloud technologies, and communicate their practical value to developers, companies, and decision-makers. A key part of my role is translating complex technical product information into clear, target-oriented value propositions that resonate with different audiences. I also analyze market dynamics and competitive developments as a product expert, deriving insights that support product positioning and strategy.

Before that, I’ve worked three years as the Lead Product Manager Cloud at Utimaco, a global platform provider of trusted Cybersecurity and Compliance solutions. I was responsible for the design and further development of the worldwide as a Service portfolio, building unique offerings that are supporting clients to benefit from the scalability and flexibility of cloud services, but keeping it as secure as on-premises solutions.

Previously, I worked seven years at Rohde & Schwarz as a direct report to the management board.
The R&S group equips businesses and public authorities with secure WAN, LAN and WLAN network infrastructures and offers products to protect data transmission, end devices and clouds.
During this time, I was responsible for establishing the B2B monitoring cloud solution LANCOM Management Cloud with thousands of business customers.

I hold a Master of Science in Market-Oriented Corporate Management from the TH Köln (University of Technology Cologne, Germany). Both my master’s thesis and my bachelor’s thesis were awarded top grades.

In addition, I completed an advanced training course to become a certified Senior Product Manager with top marks at University of Applied Management Studies.

If you catch me outside of work, I’m spending my time with my wife and our two kids – or you can find me on or around a football pitch!
